Reading this site sets no cookies from this site itself. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no tracking added by this site. There's no cookie banner for most pages because there's nothing on them to ask your permission for.

The Reviews page, and only if you ask it to

The Reviews page can show a reader's review as it appears on Facebook. Visiting the page doesn't load it: you'll see a placeholder explaining what it is, and Facebook is only contacted, and only then able to set its own cookies and see that you visited, after you click Load Facebook post. Choosing not to click means nothing is requested from Facebook at all.

Clicking once is remembered in this browser, so a post loads automatically on later visits without asking again. That memory lives only in your browser (in localStorage, not a cookie) and is covered under "Clearing storage" below. This site doesn't control what Facebook itself stores after that; its own policy governs that.

Signing in to write

The site has a private page where the author writes and publishes blog posts. Signing in there stores a login token in the browser doing the signing in, which is what keeps someone logged in while they work. It's strictly necessary for that sign-in to function, it only ever exists in the author's own browser, and it isn't used to track anything.

A sign-in script does load on every page so that page can work. If you're not signing in, it stores nothing and does nothing.

Once you leave

Following a link out to a bookseller, a conservation organisation, or a social platform takes you somewhere with its own rules, and most of those sites do use cookies. That's governed by their policies, not this one.

Clearing storage

Every browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data, usually under privacy or history settings. Clearing it removes anything Facebook has stored, and removes this site's memory that you clicked to load a post, so you'll see the placeholder and be asked again next time. It changes nothing else about how the site works for you.
